| Monster-a-day: Bapets |
[08 Jan 2008|06:54pm] |
|

As part of Dapper Cadaver's Monster-a-day project I bring you the Bapets. These were a race of female cannibals from the American West who were one of many races of cannibals who terrorized the Native Americans.
Bapets had enormous breasts filled with poisonous milk that could kill instantly. They had a taste for young children, whom they would kidnap, suckle, kill, and eat their dismembered bodies
Bapets lived forever, and could only be killed by obsidian arrows.
Indian mothers used legends of Bapets to scare their youngsters (and presumably husbands) not to be taken in by friendly, attractive strangers.
Bapets have been seen in the American Southwest as recently as 1988.

Hollywood, CA - Saturday, September 9, 2006
Calling all "Scream Queens" and "Serial Killers"! Saturday September 9, 2006 will be an evening to die for on Hollywood Boulevard!
Well, at least you could pretend to be a serial killer, supernatural fiend or scream queen from your favorite horror flick for one horrific night as you dress as your favorite Hollywood horror/b-movie film star. Just be creative and get your screaming voice ready! Your efforts to dress up will not be in vain as prizes will be given for best dressed as well as other contests throughout the evening.
Hollywood Boulevard (at Western) will be lit up with frighteningly great ART, featuring works for the occasion by Gidget Gein, VK7, Louisa Greenstock, Jason Hadley, Ramzi Abed, Louis Fleischauer, Julie Simone, Chuck Hodi, Ver Mar, Heidi Calvert, and others.
CHILLING Performance Art will entertain and thrill you, featuring Chain Goddess , Miss Satanica, Sir Witch, Jezebelle X , Edie Politoske, and Miss Bianca!

In-between the macabre menagerie of entertainment, "dance your life away" to sounds curated by The Peppermint Zebra and "DJ bluegirl"
SPOOKY Film Projections courtesy of world-renowned director and photographer Dean Karr, and Ramzi Abed/Bloodshot Pictures who will be projecting a very special silent sneak peak at his much anticipated and currently unreleased film "Who Killed the Black Dahlia?", which features some of the night's artists and performers as well as other Los Angeles legends, including Miss Satanica, Gidget Gein, Director Ramzi Abed and more!
What is a horror party without screaming bloody murder? Well, demonstrate your best, or worst, shrill scream for our Screaming Contest and win fabulous prizes!

I have a ton of spare time at work to read and would like to know what I should read horror wise... I have already read the following:
Carrie- Stephen King The Shining- S.K. Salem's Lot- S.K. Misery- S.K. Different Seasons- S.K. Thinner- S.K.
Interview With A Vampire- Anne Rice The Vampire Lestat- Anne Rice The Mummy or Ramses the Damned- Anne Rice
The Exorcist- William Blatty
I also have read some H.P. Lovecraft
I just bought The Witching Hour- Anne Rice and Audrey Rose- Frank De Felitta.
Mainly I'm looking for authors who aren't totally mainstream but not so obscure that they are hard to find. Thanks!!!

| The Weirder the Better |
[30 Nov 2005|04:41pm] |
Let me introduce myself, I make, rent, and sell horror and haunted house props in Los Angeles. I have corpses, body parts, bones, and headstones piled on every flat surface and crammed into every crevace of my house. My neighbors have called the cops on me on multiple occasions, including one full out SWAT team because I have a tendancy to take my work home with me. It's a good life though, I've worked on some of the weirdest projects imaginable, and chatted with the folks who do the real creepy work. So I want the live journal community to know, if you ever need to buy a dead body, or maybe just rent one for the weekend, I'm your man. Go ahead, ask for anything, the weirder the better. I also perform in some of these B movies. Here's a shot of me in the new "Night of the Living Dead 3D"

And I drive a hearse that's been used in all kinds of productions, including one porn.
I'm also a total flickr junky, and started a community for scream queens and other beautiful horrors.
So that's my introduction, stay tuned for updates on all manner of B movies in production and whatever atrocities I'm cooking up in my shop.
